Dhaka University Purbadhala Student Welfare Association (DUPSWA) has announced its executive committee for the 2026-27 session. The announcement came during a meeting held last Saturday evening at the association’s temporary office located on the ground floor of the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), University of Dhaka.
The New Leadership
In the newly formed committee, Murtuja Hassan Khan Faheem has been elected as the President, while Ifad Hassan has taken charge as the General Secretary.
- President Murtuja Hassan Khan Faheem is a student of the Department of Music. He hails from the village of Kajla in the Bairati Union of Purbadhala Upazila.
- General Secretary Ifad Hassan is a student of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies. He hails from the village of Lawari in the Dhalamulgaon Union.
Committee Approval
The one-year partial committee was approved by the outgoing President, Sumon Ahmed Samrat, and General Secretary, Limon Khan Rana, following the recommendations and guidance of the association's advisory board.
A Legacy of Service
DUPSWA is a dedicated platform for students from Purbadhala Upazila of Netrokona district who are studying at Dhaka University. The organization is well-known for its wide range of welfare and social activities, including:
- Admission Support: Assisting candidates during the Dhaka University admission tests with information, seating arrangements, and guidance.
- Academic Welfare: Providing scholarships to meritorious students and helping current students navigate academic or residential challenges.
- Community Development: Organizing higher education seminars in various schools and colleges across Purbadhala Upazila.
- Socio-Cultural Events: Hosting annual picnics, tree plantation drives, sports competitions, and cultural programs to strengthen the bond between students.
The newly elected leaders expressed their commitment to furthering the welfare of the students and maintaining the vibrant traditions of the organization.
